Sticks will forever be a favourite of mine. In particular, the Wimbledon branch. Its an impressive minimalist scandi space compared with the Covent Garden branch.

I find i can’t leave the restaurant without having spent at least £40 odd, this is mostly due to having eyes bigger than my stomach. Never the less, its easy to wrack up the bill here, especially if you plan on drinking too.

I ordered the Salmon OD. This consists of Daikon shake: salmon with daikon & wafu, Nigiri: salmon NY and seared salmon, Maki: pink alaska and shake kyuri, Tataki: salmon, kizami wasabi & ponzu with the Small Chaos (this over did it).

If you’re a salmon sushi fan, these are the dishes for you. They’re fresh and light (if you don’t over order) with a nice amount of crunch.

The staff are always friendly and happy to help. You will not find yourself trying to fight for their attention.

The venue has a great buzz about it and it’s often busy unless you’re going during the day mid-week. Recently, there have been groups of children attending for birthday parties (Sushi is the new McDonalds) – this shouldn’t put you off as the restaurant still manages to maintain a trendy, relaxed vibe.

During the various times I’ve visited this branch, i have sat in a variety of places. I recommend avoiding the front by the window, it can feel like you’re part of a show for the pedestrians sitting in the bus stop opposite.

This will continue to be one of my top sushi spots in London, perfect for a date or catch up with friends. I recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.
